Given to us to show that we help all kinds of patients!

My name is Copper and I am a 4 year old Redbone Coonhound. My owner named me after the Disney cartoon The fox and the Hound. When I was 9 weeks old, a bully neighborhood dog bit me on my head causing my skull to fracture in three places. A few months after my recovery, I started to get really bad Grand Mal Seizures lasting about 45 minutes. My seizures are caused from the head and brain trauma I received from the skull fractures. I have been on seizure medication, which is made and supplied by Pharmacy Innovations since I was 6 months old. The medication does not cure my seizures, it only helps reduce the frequency I have seizures. I don't know what I would do without the help of Pharmacy Innovations. Thank you for all you do.
Relief for MS Pain
A 62 year-old male patient suffering from Multiple Sclerosis was referred to our pharmacy for help in managing pain that he was experiencing, as well as Restless Leg Syndrome. He had previously used oral medications, including Naproxen and Hydrocodone, to control his pain but was concerned about side effects such as drowsiness and GI upset. After consulting with his doctor, a topical gel was prescribed that included ketoprofen and baclofen for pain and muscle spasms. By using this gel 2 to 3 times a day he was able to discontinue taking his oral pain medication and is able to manage his pain using just the topical gel. His doctor also prescribed compounded Magnesium Glycinate capsules (600mg) to be taken at bedtime for his Restless Leg Syndrome, which has provided considerable relief and allows him more restful sleep. This patient has suffered with symptoms from MS for 20 years and was very happy to get relief from his pain while still being able to function normally. He states that having topical pain relief helps him to keep a positive attitude because he is able to do everyday tasks such as driving without having to worry about drowsiness or mental fogginess.
"Little Boy"

provided by Little Boy's owner
"Little Boy" (aka "Bong") came into our lives in 1998 as an abandoned "teenager." He had made his home in our barn. He was very timid but gradually warmed to us as we fed him daily on our back porch. Because there are coyotes nearby, we decided the safest place for Bong would be inside our home. He adapted well to his new environment and, in time, became a very affectionate cat and head of the household. About five years ago, he started vomiting daily and was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). He was prescribed 2 mg Chlorambucil, once per week, which we have compounded by Pharmacy Innovations into a chicken-flavored treat. There is nothing more difficult than giving a pill to a cat, but he eats his treats with no problem at all. In addition, once per week, I rub into the inside of his ear 5MG/0.1ML Prednisolone transdermal gel. His disease remains under control with these medications, and he continues to provide us constant joy with his antics.
"Freckles"

"Freckles" is a curly-haired chihuahua that is almost 17 years old! (Born 3/1/93) She was diagnosed with heart disease 6 years ago and was started on a regimen of Digoxin, Lasix, and Benazepril. Because of her small size, "Freckles" needed a dose of Benazepril that was not commercially available. We were able to compound her dose into a beef-flavored suspension that she continues to take today. Despite being prone to pancreatitis and arthritis, her owners state that she is in good health and remains to be a joy to them everyday!
