We have become aware of increased interest in the treatments of chronic and acute sinusitis. We recently distributed a newsletter to physicians and other practitioners that explains sinus nebulization therapy as one treatment method. You can access this information by clicking [here].
A publication in the American Academy of Family Physicians suggests that despite the use of oral antibiotics and over-the-counter adjunctive therapies for chronic and acute sinusitis, outcomes were similar to those who went untreated. This may lead practitioners to explore other options such as those referenced above. This publication by L.J Fagan, M.D. can be found in Vol. 58/No. 8 (November 15, 1998) of the American Family Physician.
Burning Mouth Syndrome
Burning Mouth Syndrome is often characterized by a burning feeling in the tongue or other oral locations. It can cause many unpleasant to severe effects, including burning, dryness and changes in ability to taste. Its cause has been associated with many disorders, including chronic anxiety or depression, nutritional deficiencies, type 2 diabetes, and changes in salivary function. Recent studies conducted by Miriam Grushka, an associate professor of oral diagnosis at the CWRU School of Dentistry, indicate that clonazepam troches offer significant relief.
