Dr. Scott Smithson
Pharmacist in Charge
Dr. Scott Smithson serves the Virginia Beach community with more than three decades of experience in community pharmacy and a strong commitment to personalized patient care. A graduate of the Medical College of Virginia School of Pharmacy, he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1989 and began his career in community pharmacy shortly thereafter in 1990.
Throughout his career, Dr. Smithson has been driven by a passion for solving problems that traditional commercial medications cannot address. He values the unique role compounding plays in helping both patients and providers find customized solutions—whether for humans or animals—that simply aren’t available through standard pharmacy products. His ability to collaborate closely with healthcare professionals and patients ensures that each compound is designed with precision, purpose, and genuine care.
Outside the pharmacy, Dr. Smithson enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and staying active. He also likes to take on home projects, even when his wife playfully reminds him, “You have no business messing with that.” His curiosity, hands-on nature, and willingness to tackle challenges mirror the same dedication he brings to compounding every day.
